St James' Old Cathedral

Melburnians have been marrying at St James' Old Cathedral since the 1840s. The Georgian architectural symmetry, old box-pews and human scale of the building make a beautiful place to marry with a real sense of history. The church is appropriate for weddings with up to 300 guests. The Flagstaff Gardens across the road make an ideal setting for photographs.

 

We offer several options with wedding bookings, including assistance arranging bell-ringing (on our historic eight-bell peal), organist, singers and flowers.

 

All weddings must be conducted according to the Anglican service, and all

couples are required to undertake an approved form of marriage preparation.
